Why Should We Learn English?
Yes, this question often comes to mind when we want to study / course in English, there are many reasons we think about so we are reluctant to learn English, including maybe we say that English is difficult to learn, I don’t like English, I don’t currently working in the field of English, or my activities have nothing to do with English. There may be a thousand reasons that make us delay to study this international language. In fact, we can find various benefits, either directly or indirectly, when mastering English.
One thing that maybe we can think about is that learning English is a necessity in a modern world. We can still live without English, but there are many benefits that make our lives much better if we take English seriously and then master it. If these brief reasons are not enough for our minds, I would like to share some reasons why we should take this language seriously.
1. English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world
We know that currently English is one of the languages widely used by countries in the world as a means of communication. Currently, English is ranked third after Mandarin, which is widely used in world population communication. And no less important, almost all of the international standard use English as a medium.
2. One of the requirements to get a scholarship to study abroad
If we wish to study abroad, one of the absolute requirements is the ability to speak English, so if we master English, there will be no more obstacles for us to study abroad. Moreover, if we are smart, we can easily get scholarships for overseas schools.
3. One of the conditions for work
Currently English is one of the tests for applying for a job, especially if the company is an international standard / foreign company, so there is no longer bargaining that it is mandatory for us to master English if we want to work in a company with an international standard.
4. Expanding networks / relationships online
If we like to surf in cyberspace, with good command of English, then expanding networks / relations from other countries is not an obstacle anymore. Moreover, if our surfing activities are aimed at online business, this will open the gate to get consumers from all corners of the world.
5. Make it easier if you want to travel abroad
If we have a plan to travel around the world, then mastery of English is quite necessary to consider, with mastery of English we can easily communicate with residents of the destination countries we are visiting.
